Local college student Gabbie Schneider comes to The Starboard Group with a passion for learning, life, and philanthropy. Currently in between her junior and senior years at Colorado Christian University, Gabbie hopes to put her political science degree to use either advocating for military veterans benefits or as staffer for a member of the United States Congress.
At CCU, Gabbie received high honors and was top ranked at the Pi Kappa Delta Debate Nationals, competing in the legislative debate and broadcast journalism categories. After only two years of being founded, her team ranked seventh overall in the nation. Although Gabbie is first to admit that she can have trouble focusing on subjects she does not enjoy, she has “found ways to force myself to focus through varying my studying techniques. In the end I have learned more self discipline and to be more creative.”
Gabbie says her parents are the greatest influence in her life and have taught her the value of hard work, integrity, passion, and dedication. “Without their examples, I would not be who I am today,” Gabbie said.
A life-changing experience for Gabbie came when she was provided the opportunity to help lead a humanitarian mission to Lucknow, India. While there she partnered with local organizations to provide relief to the impoverished population living in the slums.
Gabbie enjoys reading a good book at a coffee shop or making late-night ice cream runs with friends when she’s not studying or working. “Life is a great adventure,” Gabbie said. “Absorb every moment, smell every scent, see every sight, taste every taste, and don’t fear new experiences.”
Join us in extending a hearty welcome to our new intern Gabbie!
